cost4travel is the latest travel planning tool that helps you effectively establish your travel budget and/or identify the “market price” for a wide range of travel services. Using cost information shared by other travellers, cost4travel displays the lowest, highest, and average prices based on your travel details: location, date, and service categories and levels.

With cost4travel, you can also view travellers’ comments on travel service suppliers, precisely determine price versus quality and therefore make the right choice for your transportation, accommodation, activities and other day-to-day travel needs.

cost4travel relies exclusively on the information that you and other travellers are willing to share with cost4travel and the travel community. Via an interface which we hope, is simple and comprehensive, cost4travel lets you share your travel costs for flights, accommodation, ground transportation, vehicle rental, outdoor activities and day-to-day requirements.

With this information, cost4travel’s database constantly calculates the average, highest, and lowest costs per travel service, location, service category, etc.

Then, whenever a traveller such as you, visits cost4travel to search for cost information and enters the relevant search parameters (travel service, location(s), dates, etc.), cost4travel displays aggregated cost information and related traveller comments.

All services on cost4travel are completely free.

There is no need to register with cost4travel and provide us with your name, email address and other personally identifiable information to use the services. However, we ask you to provide us, when possible, with some high level information about yourself, in order to establish pricing trends per category of travellers

Only if you chose to use Services like My Trips and My Alerts will we ask you to register with cost4travel and provide your name and email address. We may also collect your name and email address when we exchange communications with you, for example, if you submit a request via email or when we are in contact with you with respect to your content on cost4travel.

There is no obligation to register with cost4travel in order to share and/or search cost information. However, this status gives you the opportunity to use Services like My Trips and My Alerts..

For one simple reason: HELP OTHER travellerS PLAN AND BUDGET THEIR TRIP and as such, make travel totally transparent when it comes to costs.

cost4travel was devised and developed under the assumption that travellers would willingly share their travel costs, as they already share photos, experiences and diaries. So please, whenever you travel, upload the costs of your flight, accommodation, car rental, taxis, activities, etc.. The more cost information you share, the more relevant and complete cost4travel will be.

With cost data on a wide range of services and locations, cost4travel may ultimately be in a position to influence the pricing strategies of travel suppliers. The average costs that cost4travel calculates would provide suppliers with a unique opportunity to be aware of “market prices”, in other words the prices that travellers are willing to pay per service type, location, and time of year.

Sharing your experience in addition to sharing your costs helps other travellers establish the price/quality ratio to be expected from the featured suppliers and services, and to select the appropriate supplier in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.

So, when you upload your travel costs, take an additional minute or two to write about the quality of your flight, or the state of your hotel room, the friendliness of the customer service, etc.

In order to become a relevant voice with travel services suppliers, cost4travel must establish “market prices” for different groups and types of travellers. Knowing your age, gender, professional occupation and the context of your trip helps cost4travel meaningfully determine price expectations and influence suppliers’ pricing strategies accordingly.

In no circumstances, however, will cost4travel communicate personally identifiable information such as names and email addresses. cost4travel will safely and securely store your cost information and related comments indefinitely.

cost4travel carefully monitors site activity with proprietary tools and monitoring processes. If we see suspicious data and fake reviews, we will investigate them. If we find any data that are indeed suspicious, we will permanently restrict the user from uploading data into the cost4travel site and remove all reviews from that user.

My Trips is cost4travel’s premium functionality that helps you centralise and manage online the costs of your past trips.

Using My Trips, you can create a trip and assign to this trip the travel costs you’ll have shared with cost4travel. For each of your trips, My Trips will calculate and organise your travel costs per travel service (flights, accommodation, car rental etc), in your preferred currency.

When cost4travel’s search engine is online, you’ll also be able to use My Trips to create and manage the budgets of your future trips, based on cost4travel’s database.

Yes. My Trips is only available to those of you who choose to register with cost4travel. Once you’ve logged in, cost4travel gives you the option to access My Trips from your “preferred traveller” area, in order to create new trips, modify or delete existing trips.

My Trips rely on the travel costs that you and only you have shared with cost4travel. Today, My Trips can only manage travel costs for a single individual, not groups nor families not couples.

For each trip you create, My Trips will display the trip’s information you’ll have defined: trip’s name, travel dates, travel companions (if any), the region and the purpose of your trip, together with the travel costs you’ll have uploaded and assigned to this trip. 

Cost information includes travel destination (or departure and arrival cities for transportation services), dates, and the total cost in both local and preferred currencies.

My Trips was designed to make the management of your travel costs easier. It is a private application, which you and only can access using your email address and password and use. In the next version of the web site, cost4travel will let you email any of your trips to your friends and relatives.

Yet, you can choose today to make any of your trips public by clicking on the appropriate option in My Trips. If you decide to make a trip public, any user of the web site will be able to view this trip and associated cost details.

My Trips will safely and securely store your trips indefinitely.

In the event that we collect personally identifiable information, we will not disclose it without your prior consent, except in the instances described in our Privacy Policy.
